Brian F. Spector is a certified mediator whose professional abilities have been recognized by colleagues in the Florida legal community. His skills are bolstered by more than 25 years of experience as a high-profile litigator and having taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law and Florida International University College of Law.

In recent years, Mr. Spector has been acknowledged as one of the region's leading lawyers and practitioners of mediation and alternative dispute resolution, as evidenced by his inclusion in a variety of prestigious peer-rated legal listings, including The Best Lawyers in America, Florida Trend's Legal Elite, Florida Super Lawyers, and Chambers USA America's Leading Lawyers for Business.

Mr. Spector is certified as a Circuit Mediator and as an Appellate Mediator by the Florida Supreme Court. He also is certified as a mediator by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He has served as a court-appointed receiver, special master and mediator, as well as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and the National Association of Securities Dealers (now known as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).

For 28 years, Mr. Spector practiced with the Kenny Nachwalter law firm, a Miami-based commercial litigation boutique. His practice focused on complex business litigation, intellectual property litigation, legal ethics, professional responsibility, legal malpractice, accountant liability, securities litigation and securities arbitration. While actively engaged in the practice of law, he was certified for 10 years by The Florida Bar in Business Litigation, having been a member of the inaugural Business Litigation Certification Committee.

A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, he has returned over the years to his alma mater as an adjunct professor to share his knowledge and experience with a new generation of legal professionals, teaching a number of courses, including Remedies, Professional Responsibility and Professional Liability. Mr. Spector also has taught as an adjunct at the Florida International University College of Law, where his courses have included Remedies and Professional Responsibility.

Mr. Spector's activism in the legal profession reflects his deep respect and dedication to the practice of law and to the resolution of disputes via mediation. He is a member of the Ad Hoc Ad Advisory Committee on Court Annexed Mediation of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and, for almost a decade, chaired that Court's Ad Hoc Committee on Rules and Procedures.

He is a member of the American Law Institute and the Florida Supreme Court's Commission on Professionalism and Committee on Standard Jury Instructions For Contract and Business Cases. Previously Mr. Spector chaired the Florida Civil Procedure Rules Committee, served on the Florida Supreme Court's Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Civil Cases, and was a member of The Florida Bar's Standing Committee on Professionalism.

Mr. Spector is also an active participant in "Legal Up!" (formerly known as "Lawyers For Literacy"), a project of the Miami-Dade Family Learning Partnership, Inc., an organization that serves as the literacy coalition and umbrella for literacy initiatives in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
